Lansley outlines patient data control plans

The health secretary, Andrew Lansley has set out the coalition government’s vision for the NHS, including the axing of Primary Care Trusts and reducing bureaucracy to release £20 billion – but clarification on the future of the controversial National Programme for IT will remain unclear for another few weeks.
