Royal flush of framework Lots awarded to Fuijitsu

The national procurement partner for the UK, Buying Solutions, has awarded three Lots in its Commoditised IT Hardware and Software Framework Agreement to Fujitsu, becoming the only manufacturer of IT hardware to be awarded all three Lots.

The three Lots include desktop hardware, IT infrastructure, and specialist channel partners for software, and were awarded within weeks of Fujitsu becoming a partner in Buying Solutions’ Desktop21 framework.

The company also recently signed a lengthy six-year contract with the Department for Work and Pensions.

As part of the framework agreement Fujitsu will be offering a range of sustainable and energy efficient IT hardware.  A number of Fujitsu's products are already recognised through the Greenticks facility on the Buying Solutions website – meaning public sector customers can easily identify and buy products that meet the government's 'Quick Win' sustainability standards. The new framework agreement is available for immediate use, and will replace the current IT Goods and Associated Services (ITGAS) Framework Agreement, set to expire at the end of April.

"This latest Buying Solutions framework agreement award is further testimony to Fujitsu's 40 year credibility in being able to deliver the right IT for the public sector,” said Paul Parrish, managing director Technology Solutions Division, Fujitsu UK and Ireland.”

“The Commoditised IT Hardware and Software Framework Agreement in particular is an exciting opportunity for us to make a difference through sustainable and energy efficient products and associated services – whether that is through future opportunities to offer cloud-based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or our range of ESPRIMO 0-Watt PCS and displays.”

He added, “We're looking forward to helping the public sector not only drive down its carbon footprint and energy consumption but also enjoy other associated cost reductions with using our technology."

The Commoditised IT Hardware and Software framework agreement Lots awarded to Fujitsu are:
