OGC signs software deal with Agresso, giving big discounts to public sector
Created 2006-11-15 08:10

This new agreement will offer all public sector organisations preferential pricing arrangements on Agresso Business World software and services.

The agreement came into effect on 1st November 2006 and is set to deliver potential savings of £12 million over the 3 year duration of the agreement. The savings delivered will support the public sector in its continued drive towards meeting efficiency review targets and allow much needed resources to be reinvested into front-line public services, where they will produce visible benefits for the taxpayer.

As part of the MOU, Agresso has restructured its pricing model to offer unrestricted user site licences, rather than named users. The organisation's unrestricted access also extends to allowing external self-service access to Agresso Business World for its suppliers and customers.

In addition, the MOU encompasses a shared service provision that applies to both new customers setting up within a shared service and to existing Agresso customers migrating into a shared service. This approach embraces 'One Account Government' incorporating increasing annual revenue savings so that the more organisations that join up they all share from a reduced annual percentage charge.

Under the MoU, Agresso has also included a reducing annual support and maintenance charge to public sector customers. The company is also offering discounts across its range of implementation options including a managed service and a hosted managed service capability through its strategic partner Netstore.

Derek Rothwell, Director of Procurement, OGCbuying.solutions said:
"I am delighted that we have set up this agreement with Agresso to supply software licences and support services to the public sector at prices which offer real value-for-money. The savings delivered by this MOU can be reinvested into front-line public services, where they will produce visible benefits to the taxpayer".

David Myers, Director of Shared Services, Cabinet Office said:
"I am delighted with this agreement between OGCbuying.solutions and Agresso. This shared service ready approach is very much in line with HMG strategy and we hope it will set a good example for others. We are keen to extend this type of agreement to similar organisations to Agresso"

Anwen Robinson, Agresso's Government Business Director, said:
"Agresso has built up a very strong customer base in the public sector and this wide ranging pricing agreement recognises that. We are very pleased to be able to offer preferential pricing to public sector organisations in a structured and transparent way. The MOU means they can realise all the business benefits that Agresso Business World offers dynamic organisations, whilst confident in the knowledge that they are getting excellent value for money."
