South Lanarkshire Council has put out a prior information notice saying it'll be tendering shortly for server & storage solutions.

The contract will be for the supply and support of ICT server and storage solutions with a focus on server and storage centralization and consolidation to encompass provision of hardware, software, data recovery (backup/restore), and technology consultancy in a consistent, coherent and secure manner to meet the needs of the council's resources.

The supplier is expected to provide a flexible, seamless and agile service from quotation to installation and support utilizing an innovative 'Price Book' approach to all procurement and services. There are currently approximately 231 servers, 3 Storage Area Networks and associated storage technology at 41 sites within the council’s boundaries.

Scheduled start of award procedure: 19.1.2005.
