Salesforce.com launches Haiti relief agency appeal

Agencies are struggling to assist millions of people affected by Tuesday's devastating earthquake and Salesforce.com is seeking to raise $200,000 to assist World Vision and Red Cross with their efforts.

The SaaS firm's philanthropic arm, Salesforce.com Foundation, will match dollar-for-dollar any donations from its community of customers, partners, employees and friends, up to $100,000.

A message on the site reads: "As we learn more about the extent of the catastrophe and watch aid efforts kick into gear, you can lend a hand by making a donation to relief agencies on the front lines.

Through the Salesforce.com Foundation's matching program, you can double the impact of your donation to one of two organisation's we've been working with: the Red Cross and World Vision. If you donate even $2, that alone is more than what most of Haiti's population survives on per day."
