Smartphones to account for 23 per cent of new mobiles by 2013

e-Government by mobile has to be planned in for 2012 onwards by councils and central government. direct.gov.uk is already quite good on a smartphone web browser - but try your own council site - and the results are not likely to compare.

A new smartphones report from Juniper Research forecasts that these so-called ‘smartphones' will account for 23% of all new handsets sold per annum by 2013. Driving interest in smartphones will be the proliferation of online stores selling specialised applications that will make these devices better suited to individual users' needs.
