Woking Borough Council plans innovative electronic invoicing solution

Woking Borough Council has chosen OB10 to provide an electronic invoicing solution that will help the council to improve operational efficiency and simplify its accounting processes.

It was important that the solution worked with the existing procurement system and that the council's suppliers were not required to implement any additional hardware or software. OB10's ANY-TO-ANY Data Formatting Capability, allows organisations to send and receive invoices in any file format and file structure eliminating the technical and financial barriers to adoption and supplier compliance.

"It was clear very early in our discussions that e-Invoicing was the route to take to leverage our investment in our existing procurement system, said David Johnson, Strategic Policy Manager, Woking Borough Council. "The key driver was OB10's proven track record of supplier enrolment capabilities, and its ability to work with suppliers of different size or technical sophistication, across both public and private sectors."

The initial three-year agreement between Woking Borough Council and OB10 will involve the processing of over 55,000 invoices across the council's varied supplier network. The OB10 e-Invoicing solution is flexible and cost effective as it extracts invoice data directly from a supplier's billing system and sends it directly to their e-marketplace for reconciliation and finally onto the Council's in house finance system - eliminating the need to process, manually key-in, or store paper invoices. Other benefits of the system for the Council will include better reporting and forecasting, improved cash flow management, support for corporate governance and improved supplier relationships as invoices are accurate and paid on time.
