e-skills internship videos feature experiences of student placements

e-skills UK has created a set of three videos to demonstrate the opportunities offered by the e-skills internship programme.

The videos feature the experiences of focused, articulate and committed students on placements with GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, and Network Rail. They also feature their employers and lecturers and demonstrate the benefits brought to the company as well as to the students.

The e-skills internship is an industry-backed student placement programme designed to boost the employability of graduates. The programme builds on best practice in student placements. Students participate in a period of employment within an organisation – usually for a year – during which they develop a rich blend of business, interpersonal and technical skills.

Already, many employers (large and small) and many universities are involved in the pilot programme for e-skills internships, with a full launch in late 2010. If you are an employer or university and would like to get involved in the pilot, we can help you put in place an e-skills internship, including identifying a suitable employer/university partnership.
